Best time to visit Italy
April–June and September–October offer the best balance of weather and crowds. July–August is hot and busy, especially in Rome and Florence. Winter is quieter and cheaper, with shorter daylight and occasional rain. Book Colosseum, Vatican and Uffizi tickets ahead in any season.

Train to Florence. Climb the Duomo dome (book ahead), visit the Uffizi or Accademia, cross Ponte Vecchio, and take a day trip to Pisa, Siena or the Chianti countryside. Florence is compact — walking shoes matter more than taxis.

Venice
St Mark’s Basilica and Piazza San Marco, Doge’s Palace, Rialto, and a vaporetto ride along the Grand Canal. Add Burano or Murano if you want colour beyond the main island. Gondolas are optional; side canals at dusk are free and beautiful.

Departure
Fly out of Venice (VCE) or train back to Rome/Milan for your international flight. Build buffer time — Italian trains are generally good, but connections with luggage need margin.
